1. Global Warming Beliefs
1.1 Most GitHub users say global warming is happening.
More than eight in ten respondents (86%) say global warming is happening. Fewer say it is not happening (7%), and 6% say they don’t know.
1.2 A majority of GitHub users say global warming is caused mostly by human activities.
A majority of respondents (53%) say global warming is caused mostly by human activities, and an additional 31% say it is caused by a combination of human activities and natural changes in the environment. About one in ten (9%) say it is caused mostly by natural changes, and 3% say none of the above because global warming isn’t happening.
