Home / Tools & Interactives / American Christians Support CO2 Regulations
A majority of American Christians support setting strict carbon dioxide emission limits on existing coal-fired power plants in order to reduce global warming and increase public health, even if it increases electricity costs to consumers. Large majorities of Catholics (74%) and non-evangelical Christians (70%) strongly or somewhat support the policy, and more than half of evangelicals (60%) do as well. This data comes from our report “Climate Change in the American Christian Mind.”
