7.1. About half of registered voters say the issue of global warming was important in determining their vote in 2020.
About half of registered voters (48%) say the issue of global warming was an important factor in determining how they voted in 2020. Three in four Democrats (74%) say it was an important issue, as do 45% of Independents. Three in four Republicans (76%) say global warming was not an important issue in determining their vote (see Data Tables).
