These bar charts show the percentage of GitHub users who think individual developers, tech companies and employers, cloud and infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), GitHub specifically, governments and regulators, and open source communities should be doing much more, more, less, or much less to address environmental impact, or who say they don't know or think they are currently doing the right amount. GitHub users say governments, tech companies, and cloud providers should do more to address environmental impact. Data: github, Spring 2026.
