fig2_policies_by_demographics_caption

This dot plot shows support for two climate change policies: support for transitioning the U.S. economy to 100% clean energy by 2050, and belief that schools should teach about global warming, among registered voters, broken down by political party and age range. There are large gaps in support for climate change policies by age among Republicans, with more younger Republicans supporting pro-climate policies than older Republicans (19 and 18 percentage points, respectively). There are much smaller gaps by age among Independents and Democrats. The figure contains the caption: "Fig. 2. Young Republicans are more supportive of climate action than older Republicans. Percentage of registered voters who support transitioning the US economy to 100% clean energy by 2050 and think that schools should teach about global warming, by political affiliation and age group (aggregated data from 2022-2024)."
