fig1_beliefs_by_demographics

This dot plot shows four climate change beliefs: belief that global warming is happening, belief that global warming is human-caused, worry about global warming, and belief that most scientists think global warming is happening, among registered voters, broken down by political party and age range. There are large gaps in climate change beliefs by age among Republicans, with more younger Republicans having pro-climate beliefs than older Republicans (14, 14, 7, and 14 percentage points, respectively). There are much smaller gaps by age among Independents and Democrats. The figure contains the caption: "Fig. 1. Young Republicans hold more pro-climate beliefs than older Republicans. Percentage of registered voters who say that climate change is happening and mostly human-caused, that they are worried about climate change, and that most scientists agree that climate change is happening, by political affiliation and age group (aggregated data from 2022-2024)."
