attitude-behavior-gap-3

This bar chart shows the percentages of Americans who perceive social norms supportive of climate action, talk about climate change with others, or hear others talk about it across (1) people who are definitely willing to engage in climate action and are doing so, (2) people who are definitely willing to engage but aren’t doing so, and (3) all other respondents. Americans who have taken action on climate change are more likely to think that others care about action, talk about climate change, or hear others talk about it. Data include six waves of Climate Change in the American Mind survey data spanning March 2021 to October 2023. Refer to the data tables in the Methods section in the Climate Note for all percentages.
