These bar charts show the percentage of GitHub users who think personal lifestyle choices (e.g., diet, transportation, recycling), how they develop and write software, advocating for sustainability practices, voting and/or civic engagement(e.g., signing petitions, donating, or volunteering), and contributing to open-source projects focused on sustainability have a marge, moderate, or smallon effect on reducing their personal environmental impact. GitHub users are most likely to say voting and civic engagement reduce their personal environmental impact. Data: github, Spring 2026.
