This bar chart shows the percentages of Americans who have engaged in four climate actions (e.g., signing petitions, volunteering, contacting government officials), specifically among those who say they “definitely” or “probably” would do the behavior if someone they like and respected asked them to. Even among Americans who are willing to engage in climate action, many have not done so in the past 12 months. Data include six waves of Climate Change in the American Mind survey data spanning March 2021 to October 2023. Refer to the data tables in the Methods section in the Climate Note for all percentages.
