These dot plots show the percentage of registered voters, broken down by political party and ideology, who strongly or somewhat support the following policies: requiring electric utilities in your state to produce 100% of their electricity from clean, renewable energy sources (such as wind and solar) by 2050, allowing states to set higher fuel efficiency standards than the federal government for new cars and trucks, state laws allowing residents to install small plug-in solar panels (on their balcony or in their backyard) that directly generate electricity for their home, their governor declaring global warming a statewide emergency, and their city, town, or county government declaring global warming a local emergency. A majority of registered voters support state and local climate-related policies. Data: Climate Change in the American Mind, Politics & Policy, Spring 2026.
