YPCCC Receives National Innovation Honor

The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) recently awarded YPCCC and Director Anthony Leiserowitz the Warren J. Mitofsky Innovators Award.

This award is given for innovative public opinion research and survey research, and YPCCC was recognized for the downscaling methodology used to produce the Yale Climate Opinion Maps. AAPOR says of YPCCC’s research: “The work of the Yale Program has led to a deeper understanding of public opinion among policymakers, academics, journalists, and the general public. As the news media continue to adopt new data visualizations in reporting, innovations like the Yale Climate Opinion Maps can help the nation better understand how public opinion varies over time and space.”
